Almudena Torró was attracted by the simplicity of metal mesh, an everyday material which, at first glance, seems devoid of everything, but which invited her to look through it. From the need to bond with space, she discovered the malleability of this material and began to model it, to turn it into an artistic object. She is particularly interested in the way this material allows light to pass through it and how its shadows are projected, allowing her to explore concepts such as lightness, weightlessness, the ephemeral and the volatile. Through this experimentation, Torró has found a visual language that allows her to move between the tangible and the intangible, with works that invite the viewer to stand in front of them and recognize themselves, as in front of a mirror that not only reflects, but also has a reverse side, involving the observer with the work. It is an act of intimate and enveloping communication, where the gaze and the position of the observer are never the same.
